I have been playing volleyball since I was 8 years old, the first time I stepped on the volleyball court I knew it was where I belonged. When I was younger I would dream of being in the Olympics, playing for the gold with Team USA! I woke up at 5 o'clock every morning one summer to watch Olympic Volleyball. I played for my school team all three years of middle school, going from practice team to Captain. Those three years I worked like never before to improve my skills. But that wasn't enough, it was time to work so I could become a 'Lady Eagle' in high school. I started doing setting clinics and camps. I knew there was a spot for me on the varsity team, I just had to become a really solid setter. My freshman year of highschool I made varsity as a setter; by sophomore year I was captain.
I have met that goal, now it's time for a new and improved goal. I've got my sights set on college volleyball and I won't give up. I know that collegiate athletics are going to take a lot more commitment and a lot more hard work. I am up for this challenge. When I am on the court you will know that I give my all. I will be that player that when I come off you can tell I have played my hardest, and given 110%.
In order to play in college I knew I needed to play club which I have now been doing for 4 years; it has been really great for me in learning teamwork, grit, and leadership. Academically, I've always worked hard and have great parental support, I maintain a GPA higher than 3.7 and I intend to keep it that way. Volleyball is very important to me and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to become the best athlete I can be both on and off the court.
