Personal Statement
My name is Ella Davis, and I have been passionate about volleyball for as long as I can remember! My competitive nature and strong will to learn and grow have served me well over my volleyball career in both school and club, and I look forward to continuing my volleyball journey at the college level! My educational aspiration is to enter the medical field as a Physician's Assistant. I value my education and have focused on balancing both volleyball and academics, currently having earned a weighted GPA of 4.6 and making the Academic All-District team in 2019.
I realize playing at the college level is not for everyone- it not only takes hard work, but also commitment and sacrifice, all of which I have become accustomed to. Being on the shorter side for the sport, I have had to out-work, out-train and out-perform many taller players, and this has required focus and determination. I am now ready to apply that focus and determination to earning a spot on a college team! Excuses are not allowed, and I have sacrificed through pain (playing with a finger fractured in two places), missing out on social activities, and having to get back up when I have been knocked down both physically and mentally, but it has been worth it!
I am a good candidate for your team due to my coachability (I am always wanting to learn and get better!), strong moral compass, team-player attitude and work ethic, and I look forward to meeting you and adding value to your team!
