The reason why I love being an athlete and being a part of the team is because through athletics I have built many necessary traits and skills needed to live a successful life, such as pursuit and perseverance. As a trans athlete I have endured many difficult hardships in order to participate in sports however I will continue not to give up on my passion of volleyball despite my identity. One of my main goals as an athlete is to be a strong leader on and off the court. I always maintain my grades at a high level and make sure to focus on school so that I can later focus on volleyball. I believe one thing that makes me different than other recruits is my level of commitment I have for my sport as well as my constant desire to not only be a leader in sports but for the world. I know as a trans athlete I will continue to face conflict and backlash however I will not give up on my dream to be an athlete in college.
