My name is Kenzie Segleski. I am an OH/DS for the class of 2023. I have excelled in other sports such as basketball and track, but my true passion is volleyball because it is challenging both physically and mentally.
On my club team I play OH as a six rotation player. I made Varsity at Melissa High School as a freshman playing DS. However, due to team injuries I was trusted by my coach to be thrown into multiple positions and roles throughout the season that I was not accustom to playing, such as Middle Blocker, Right Side, and Setter. On my teams my leadership comes from leading by example. I give 110% on every play no matter if it is a game, scrimmage, practice, or drill. I don't take plays off because I want to push myself to be the best I can be.
I think that I am different because of my versatility and confidence to take on any role. This helps me learn and grow as a player as well as a student of the game. I am hardworking, coachable, respectful, a good teammate, competitive, and have tons of heart.
I have always dreamed of playing at the collegiate level. I believe it would be a chance to grow not only academically but personally. It's a way to test my abilities as a player and student as well as push myself to do things I never dreamed of. I am undecided on a major at this time, but I am interested in looking into Interior Design or Emergency Medical Technician. I am hoping to obtain a scholarship at the collegiate level and further my career goals by earning a degree.
