Hey! My name is Billie Anderson, and volleyball has been my life since age ten. At the time, it was just something I would do to have fun, but as I matured, I became obsessed. My brain and body was taken over by volleyball and to this day I feel my best playing on that court. I understand that playing in college will take hard work, but that doesn't scare me. My dream is to play at a D1 school and I will do everything in my power to make that happen!
I have played as a hitter since I started the sport, playing every front row position. As the years went on, I found my best work came out as a middle blocker, though I also play well as an opposite. Though I am still a growing teenage girl, I have a lot of strength, and it is reflected in my arm swing. My volleyball IQ is improving by the day, and I make sure to work hard to successfully accomplish the little details on the court. I am very coachable and work very well with others. I bring a lot of energy and competitive spirit to the team. When I am playing, I am always making sure it stays loud. I strive to work extremely hard on and off the court.
Volleyball is so huge in my life, and I commit a lot of time to it. My freshman year of high school I made JV and I am now putting in the work to make varsity next season. I also play club volleyball at Max Performance on their national team. With the time I have off from both seasons, I like to keep athletically prepared, so I am always doing the most. I frequently am running and lifting to keep myself in shape.
In the classroom, I make sure I work just as hard as I do on the court. I am always making sure to give it my all and am currently striving for a 4.0 GPA while I currently have a 3.7. I also find so much joy in participating in extracurriculars, such as the varsity choir I am in. I make sure to also volunteer when I get the chance to because I want nothing more than to give back. At heart, there is always so much love for the people in my life, so I make sure to spend time with those people as well.
I hope to attend a college I can continue to better myself in. I am open to nearly all options to make this ambition come true, but I hope to compete at the highest, most competitive level as possible. I want to prove to myself that I am capable, and that everything I have put into this sport for the past years will be so worth it to accomplish my goals. I cannot wait for the future to come!
