Personal Statement

I am from a very small town and school in Texas, but I have big goals beyond high school.  My main goals for college are to obtain a degree in Occupational Therapy, Sports Medicine/Athletic Training or in Kinesiology as well as play volleyball at the collegiate level.  I am hard-working and a team player on and off the court.  Academics and athletics are both very important to me and I have learned a lot about time management and dedication from both.  Aside from volleyball I participate in cross country, basketball, tennis and track. I serve as an athletic trainer for our football team and volunteer for many of our church, school and community events.   I love traveling, hanging out with friends and spending time with family.   I am excited to continue working hard in high school so I can be prepared for my future in college.

  • Notes: My name is Richard Rosales and I am currently Cameron’s club coach and Assistant Director for Corpus Christi Force Volleyball Club. Cameron’s role is currently Opposite/Right Side for our CC Force 161 Crossfire club team. Cameron is a true Opposite and is a 6’2 LEFTY. First it has been my pleasure to coach Cameron this current season (2019-2020). She has shown tremendous growth in her athleticism, discipline and work ethic. One of the first things that stood out to me about Cameron is her dedication. Cameron is one of the only members of our team (and club) to travel from over 2 hours away. She made a tough decision to leave her friends and coaches from a previous club close to home to travel at least twice a week for practices and clinics. This alone showed me that she wanted to train and get better as a player. In addition to this, Cameron is always the first one to practice. Even with her commute it is very rare that a local teammate beat her to the gym. Secondly she is naturally curious. She has shown tremendous growth in just a few short months with a new coach, new team, and a new system. Cameron is curious and determined try new things and is willing to stay late to have one-on-one conversations or extra reps. She works hard and will give it her all every time she steps into a gym. Once she has her mindset on learning a new skill, she will continue to rep it out as much as possible to master it. Cameron shows her leadership on the court through her communication and willingness to try things outside her comfort zone. She is one of the loudest and most communicative members on the court and she establishes her presence. Cameron is still quite young and adapting to a new system of volleyball and is challenged everyday. She handles business but still needs improvement in some areas. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, our season is at a pause and we have not touched a ball or trained systematically in over a month. I am not sure when/if we will be able to get back into the gym but here is what I know about Cameron. First, her attacking has increased significantly since the start of season. Cameron’s favorite and most successful shot is down the line and has some good shots under her tool belt, but we are developing more deep and sharp cross shots to add to her arsenal. Cameron takes away court while she blocks and can be a shut down force when she turns it on. Cameron is also working on her versatility as we use her in side-out options on the left pin, but she has shown more interest in getting defense and serve-receive reps in practice. Cameron has the ability to become an elite six-rotation right side.
