My name is Abigail Mann and I’m currently in high school at Bishop Reicher Catholic High School in Waco, TX. I began playing volleyball in 4th grade. I knew this was my passion whenever I hit junior high. My mother leaned more towards basketball and to appease her I attended a few camps but I never felt the same energy as I did picking up a volleyball. I believe training is 24/7. Even on a rest day you review film for future opponents, you work on how to improve your game, as well as your teammates. My freshmen year I played junior varsity. During my sophomore year I played on junior varsity as well as varsity. I also played soccer and ran track. Volleyball aside, academics and attending school is very important to me and a crucial factor in my life. A good athlete will have discipline and determination to be successful on the court and in the classroom. I do my homework very single night after work, I study for tests and quizzes, and I am very attentive in each of my classes. After practice, I go to work and I usually close. It may seem very busy at times but I manage my time wisely and still manage to get all my homework and studies completed as well as grind at practice. On the weekends, I will work with my trainer who gives me specialized work outs for the skills I need to improve on. I love the hustle and challenges that comes with my everyday life. These things fuel my passion to be successful and prosper in my future. During club season, I play as a setter/defensive specialist for the club Texas Legends. I plan on going to college after I graduate high school. There are many fields I would like to study but I would say the medical field is what I gravitate to the most. I hope to continue my volleyball career as well as I go to college. Volleyball is such a big aspect in my life and going to practice is my energy and mood booster. The feeling I get from being on the court is euphoric. My passion for the game is huge. I hope to continue my journey and succeed in these goals.
