Personal Statement
Going to the State Final Four tournament my freshman year was definitely the highlight of my volleyball career. Being an all around player in that year on the varsity team helped me grow my character and leadership skills. My experience of being on varsity my freshman year made me step up and push through my comfort zone of being a leader and mentor to those younger than me as well as older than me. It has made me realize how gifted I am in being a leader. My teammates have often told me how I have been helping them and encouraging them a lot, when I didn’t even know I was.
Playing volleyball on a club team starting my 8th grade year made me realize really how much I love volleyball, and how I want to work up to playing at the college level. I have always worked very hard in my athletics. I have always pushed to get better every day in playing volleyball along with cheer, basketball, track and field and even in the 7 years I did competitive gymnastics. With all the work and effort put into my athletics, I also put that same effort in playing 3 different instruments in my school jazz band all the while I never cease to keep up my academics. I strive to stay at the top of my class with the goal of graduating at Valedictorian.
I know that I am and have been very blessed. Wherever my future leads me to play volleyball, I plan to make a difference to the team by being a big asset to the team. As well as hoping to make a difference in the lives of those around me, I will bring my leadership, dedication, hard work, focus, attention to detail and my love of the game and love of my team to wherever I play. I will always strive to be better and get better every day for whatever team I find myself lucky to play for.
