Julia Kim '17 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I started playing volleyball in 3rd grade, I wanted to play in college. Being able to play for and represent my school has been a dream of mine, like almost every other high school athlete. The thought of having a team of girls just like me and a school that fits me perfectly is enough to motivate me every day to work towards my goals. I believe I am different than other recruits mainly in my character, as I bring more to the table than just physical skill. I believe in giving 110% in everything I do and I have high ambitions. Many teammates, coaches, and parents have said they constantly see me working hard and doing things right. I push and encourage my teammates as I want them to be the best they can be and I expect the same from them. I maintain a positive attitude on the court and will always pick up a teammate when they are down. I'm often told that I'm the "anchor", as I'm consistent and a go-to when things get frantic. I have a genuine love for the game and I wouldn't want to spend my time doing anything else. Skill wise, I have had considerable experience as both a setter and a DS/Libero. I can either be a Libero with great hands or a setter with great defense. I believe this versatility sets me apart from other athletes. Academically, I have always been high-achieving. I finished freshman year with a 4.2 GPA while taking all honors classes. I have a very good work ethic and time management skills that allow me to balance academics and athletics. Thank you for viewing my profile!
