Hello, my name is Erika Anderson and I am a Junior at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, VA. My future goal is to get a good education, obtaining my degree in criminal justice, while playing volleyball for the University I attend. I enjoy helping others and being a role model, therefore I believe a career in law enforcement would suit my character.
I want to play volleyball in college and I will bring value and talent to the team. I am extremely coach-able and a team player. I was the only Freshman to make my Varsity High School team in 2016 and have been a starter all three years. Currently I am a Junior and am Captain of our Varsity team, which just won our Region. Club season year 2018/2019 I will play for Beach Elite 17 Black. Prior to this I played for Coastal Volleyball Virginia and was a starter for each season. The last two club seasons I was the utility player. I enjoy both front and back lines, but this year will focus on DS.
I will work hard for any coach and professor I have in college. I have been in sports since I was three years old participating in soccer, swimming, basketball and volleyball. Every coach has told me that I am very coach-able and a role model for the team. In soccer I was captain for 4 years. In swimming I won the coaches award (2011). In basketball I was captain for my middle school and recreation league teams. In middle school, I received the highest sportsmanship award. My first travel club season with Coastal I was awarded the coaches award, and on September 25, 2017, I was awarded the Grizzly Sportsmanship Ethics and integrity award at my high school. I am a dedicated athlete, and honor student, and will continue to be this way throughout my college years.
