Sorrell Alexander '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Sorrell, a junior at Mechanicsville High in Richmond Virginia and I take pride in a Growth Mindset, both on and off the court. My coaches have always emphasized the importance of being open to learning and improvement—and I fully embrace that. I actively seek feedback, take initiative in practice and in the classroom, while approaching each opportunity as a chance to grow. I plan to carry this mindset throughout high school, college, and into my future career in the field of biology. 

I'm pleasantly competitive and enjoy a win, but I also love to laugh and have fun while doing it. I also enjoy any opportunity to lighten the mood for the team during rough days, through prayer, a musical dance, or a silly joke. Academics are very important to me and I take pride in maintaining strong grades. This upcoming school year I'm looking forward to teaching elementary and middle schoolers about the importance of avoiding substance abuse. 

I prefer small groups, however I enjoy working with any group that is friendly, focused, and hard-working. I adapt easily, I have a positive and respectful attitude, and believe that learning never stops. I’m excited to keep developing into the best version of myself with the support of a strong team.
