Cayla Chun '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Cayla Chun . Volleyball is my passion, and what I spend most of time doing. I practice 4 days a week and go to strength training two separate days. While I do have strength in skills in volleyball, another strength that I have is my work ethic. However, this work ethic, instilled in me by my parents from a young age, not only plays a role in volleyball career, but also in all other aspects of my life (Such as academics). I hold myself accountable to a very high academic standard. I think academic are very important, as they will carry me into my life-long career, which is represented in my 4.2 GPA average. I plan to graduate high school with an advanced diploma, to make me eligible for various competitive colleges. Another activity I like to do in my free time is volunteering for a local wounded warrior program in my area. A unique trait that have is my self-criticalness. I aim towards perfection, and while I understand this is not very likely to achieve, I hold the mentality that if I keep striving for it, I can only get better. While I remember the good things I do, I also look towards the mistakes I make and see how I can improve next time to not make the same mistake.
