Personal Statement

Hi, I’m Bailey!  I started playing volleyball at the age of 9 and it has become my favorite thing to do.  I played soccer, basketball, softball and practiced Tae Kwon Do when I was younger before finding my passion for volleyball.  As an athlete I have learned the importance of work on and off the court and during the off season I participate in Sports Performance Training to improve my agility, work on my vertical jump, and strength train.  When I first started playing, my teammates and I got the opportunity to try every position to understand the fundamentals of the game.  My mom was a collegiate coach and is my club volleyball coach. She shows me a different perspective of the game than most players experience which has given me a more in-depth knowledge of the game.  There was also a huge emphasis on fundamentals where I learned good techniques for passing, setting, hitting, and serving.  When I first started I wanted to be a hitter, but as I got better I found I really enjoyed setting. Being a setter requires strong leadership, quick decision making, and a strong connection with my teammates which is why I enjoy playing in this position. I have found that playing volleyball always makes my day better and I look forward to playing it in college.

In addition to athletics, I am dedicated to maintaining strong academic performance. Balancing sports and academics has been a priority for me, and I take pride in my ability to excel in both areas.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
