Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Sabrina Dejesus-Bair. I am 17. My birthday is July 23, 1999 and this is how I fell in love with the game of volleyball! I use to play soccer and basketball but for middle school soccer isn’t a sport so I decide to branch out and tryout for the volleyball team. As a 7th grader I was shy and didn’t have that many friends. I ended up making the team and played every position. volleyball brought out my inner self and I made some great friends that I’m still friends with till this day. My parents are my role models and push me to become who I am today. I wouldn’t have tried out if it wasn’t for my parents. While playing volleyball I’ve learned many things about myself and of the game. I learned that you’re not perfect you’re always going to have a bad game and thats normal for everyone. I also learned about the definition of a team. I love my team more than anything and our friendship on and off the court helps us play together on the court. volleyball is my passion and I enjoy playing the sport every single day. My academic goals in high school is stay above a 3.3 GPA and to graduate of course. I want to become a vet and thats been my goal since I was little. During school season I have to work extra hard to keep my spot as a libero. My obstacles are overcoming my habits on the courts that aren’t good and learning new things in order to become the best I can be. Last season we were inches away to making state. Sadly we didn’t pull through. After experiencing and being so close it made me realize how competitive I am and how hard I’m willing to work in order to get where I want to be. I'm willing to push myself as hard as I can in order to become the person I want to be.
