Samantha Wilson '19 Recruiting Profile

I’ve played Volleyball since I was in the 6th grade. I tried out for volleyball with a cast on my hand due to a broken thumb. Of course, I made the team and have loved this sport ever since. The highlight of my volleyball career was making it to the WV state volleyball championship game my sophomore year. Even though we came in second place, it made me work even harder to build the team up for next year. However, my junior year we only made it to the semi finals. But, we finally won the 2018 WV State Championship my Senior year which was so special to the 4 seniors who have played since middle school.  I have been a part of a High School volleyball team that is breaking all the high school and county records. My junior year was a year of learning and realizing team work and team dynamics are number 1.  As a libero, I feel I play a huge role in communicating the court to my teammates and being the anchor to the teams defense.  

I also was part of the Mountain Rage Volleyball Club since my 6th grade year.  Most recently, my team won the Ohio Valley Region Championship. I also play with local athletes in an open gym atmosphere and train year-round with the Bridgeport High School Wrestling team and Training Traditions.

I am looking for a college academic and athletic program to enhance my goal in a medical field and to be a part of a high energy and positive volleyball team.  I am strong in math and science which I am currently taking college and AP classes.
