My name is Jenna Heindselman, and I am a senior at Elkhorn Area High School. I started playing volleyball my freshman year of high school and have played ever since. My freshman year I started as an outside hitter on the freshman team. My sophomore year I made the varsity team and played as an outside hitter.
I also play club volleyball on Lakes Juniors Volleyball Team. Freshman year I was a starter as a middle hitter. Then my sophomore year I was a one of the starters for outside hitter and middle. We placed 10th overall and had a decent season.
Yes, volleyball is important but also academics are very important. I try to keep my GPA at a 3.75 or higher. I am also in accelerated math and finished that class with an A-. This year my GPA has either been at a 4.0 or just below with a 3.8. This proves that not only volleyball is important, but academics are also very important to me. I have maintained this GPA while I have participated in high school volleyball, gymnastic, track and club volleyball. I was a state qualifier in gymnastics and track. This shows that I am a very well-rounded student athlete.
