Haley Farnum '12 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking time to visit my profile!   My name is Haley Farnum and I am a Sophomore at Palomar College in San Marcos California. I am a defensive specialist/libero. I am currently looking for my next place to call home!

Before I started playing volleyball I spent 6 years as a competitive gymnast, devoting 15-20 hrs per week to the gym. My gymnastics background has made me an exceptional athlete giving me agility, balance and the ability to focus under pressure. It has also taught me to set goals and to work hard to achieve them. 

I finished my high school career being named to the DC Everest Invite All Tournament Team, Regional Champions (losing our first game of Sectionals to the Div 1 State Champions) and named to the All State Team Honorable Mention list.  I have also earned the Heart and Soul of the Team and Offensive MVP Awards.  I work hard on and off the court, have a positive attitude and encourage my teammates to do the same. I strongly believe that you should lead by example so I work hard to be a positive role model. I was a member of DECA, Link Crew Leadership, PromiseMakers and was the Marketing and Promotions Manager of our school store. 

I started playing club volleyball at 14 on a 14-3 team and was moved up to the 14-2 team after our 3rd tournament.  Since then I have worked hard and earned a starting setters spot with Fox Cities Elite 15-1 and 16-1 teams.  I have experienced USAV National Qualifiers-finishing as high as 4th place and USAV National Championships qualifying in the National Division by winning our Regional Championships.  I have also experienced two years of Badger Region High Performance and JVA National Championships with Wisconsin Volleyball Academy 17-1.  I was also chosen Team Captain for the last three club seasons.

I am very motivated and believe I have the skills and attitude it takes to be successful at the collegiate level. I am looking for a school with a good health management program and a volleyball program that is not just a team but a family. I am looking for a school where I can contribute, make a difference and continue to grow as a student and an athlete.
