January 2019 was a big year for me. I was diagnosed with brain cancer. I had brain surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy for a little more than a year. Unfortunately I was unable to play in the fall of 2019 for both school and club, but I’m not someone who gives up. I was still part of both teams by showing up to practice everyday, being at almost every game, wearing a jersey I deserved, and being a leader even though I wasn’t actually on the court.
I am the oldest of 5 sisters and I grew up teaching them how to play and love volleyball just as much as I do. I WILL be playing this coming fall and couldn’t be more excited to not only play but be with my teammates again and be a strong leader they deserve.
