My name is Garret Blydenburgh, I am a Senior (Class of 2021) wrestler from Wasilla, Alaska and my goal is to attend a college where I can complete my undergraduate course work toward becoming a Physical Therapist while being a member of the school's wrestling team. I am an excellent candidate for a collegiate wresting team because I value both academics and athletics and feel that they go hand-in-hand to develop a successful human being. My strengths as a wrestler are my coachability, my capacity to form positive relationships with my teammates and coaches, and my ability to quickly learn and execute technique. I have had four years of Varsity wrestling experience and success during high school, yet I feel that I am just now glimpsing my potential as a highly successful wrestler - I am looking forward to extending my knowledge and skill in a collegiate program with coaches who can push me beyond even my own expectations. I believe that I am different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics because I understand that there are certain characteristics that are necessary to living up to your full potential: I understand that I have to be humble and know that I can always improve, I understand that I have to have integrity and must take responsibility for my actions, and I understand that my success is completely up to me and my willingness to work for what I want.
