Personal Statement

I am currently a Senior at Lenox High School in Lenox Iowa. I have been wrestling since I was 4 years old. I participated in pee wee state, I also participated in AAU state 4 times. I also participate in several national tournaments throughout the year. This year I went 60-4 placing 4th at the state tournament. My dream has always been to be the best I can be and make it to state all four years of my high school career. I would love to wrestle in college and obtain scholarships to help me out with tuition. I currently practice every single day so I can better myself. If I loose a match I don't consider myself the looser I consider myself as I learned something. I currently practice with Millertime wrestling with Mason Miller out of Des Moines. My future plans are to study nutrition and become a life coach minoring in sports medicine. I also want to be a wrestling coach.

I have participated in wrestling since I was four years old, participation in wrestling has been a significant aspect of my life, shaping me both physical and mentally. From a young age, wrestling has provided me with numerous benefits, including discipline, physical fitness, and a sense of trust friendship with my teammates. In this essay, I will discuss the impact wrestling has had on me personally. I will also consider potential future developments related to wrestling and how it will continue to be important to me. For me, participation in wrestling has been important for several reasons. Firstly, wrestling has taught me the value of hard work and discipline. The rigorous training and demanding physical conditioning required to compete in wrestling have helped me develop a strong work ethic and a sense of determination that I apply to all aspects of my life. Additionally, wrestling has improved my physical fitness, strength, and agility, making me a better athlete overall. The intense nature of wrestling matches has also taught me how to stay focused under pressure and perform to the best of my abilities in high-stress situations. On the other hand, participating in wrestling has also had its challenges. The physical demands of the sport can be taxing on the body, leading to injuries and exhaustion. Additionally, the competitive nature of wrestling can be mentally draining, as athletes often must maintain a strict diet and training regimen to stay in peak condition. However, these challenges have only served to strengthen me and made me a better wrestler and person overall. For me, participation in wrestling has been important for several reasons. Firstly, it has taught me the value of hard work and dedication. Training for wrestling requires hours of practice, conditioning, and mental preparation. It has pushed me to my limits both physically and mentally, but the rewards have been well worth it. Wrestling has also taught me the importance of discipline and perseverance. No matter how tough the competition or how hard the training is, I have learned to push through and keep going. 4In conclusion, participation in wrestling has been a crucial part of my life, shaping me into the person I am today. It has been my honor throughout all 4 years of my high school career to be one of the team captains, it has taught me leadership, responsibility, building relationships with my teammates and coaches, voice my opinions, and get a better understanding of myself. I am very grateful to be a leader for a sport that has impacted my life so much. Through wrestling, I have learned important values such as hard work and discipline, while also improving my physical fitness and mental toughness. The sport of wrestling has a rich history and many influential figures who helped to shape its development, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this tradition. With the guidance of influential figures in the sport, as Dan Gable and John Smith, I have been able to reach new heights and achieve my goals in wrestling. The lessons I have learned through wrestling have had a lasting impact on me and will continue to serve me well in the future. Wrestling will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences it has given me. I believe that wrestling will continue to be important to me in the future, providing me with new challenges and opportunities for growth and self-improvement.
