Wrestling has taught me many things in life; dedication, sacrifice, hard work, determination and to never give up. I began wrestling at the age of 4 when my father took me to a youth practice. In the 7th grade, I made the varsity team. It has not always been without adversity. At age 10. I suffered a severe injury to my leg which required emergency surgery and 4 rods in my leg, I was bed ridden for 8 weeks. In 8th grade, I was diagnosed with Mono, requiring me to miss that season. Although I had these set backs, I knew that with all I have learned through wrestling, I could over come them and still be successful in whatever I do. As my senior year approaches, I am proud of the fact that I have earned Varsity letters in 5 different sports (wrestling, football, baseball, volleyball, badminton ) and have earned 3 sectional titles in 3 different sports (wrestling, volleyball, badminton). My immediate goal for my senior year is to become the New York State champion in wrestling. I continue to improve my technique in the practice room, while increasing my strength by weight lifting (5) days a week in order to reach my goal. Academically I am on the path of graduating high school with an associates degree.
I am looking for a program that will continue to help me grow as an athlete, scholar, and young adult. I believe with my athletic ability, my academics, willingness to work hard, and willingness to improve to be the best that I can be, that I would have an immediate impact on your program. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
