Personal Statement

Hello, My name is Tony Giovagnoli and I am a proud member of the 2019 Graduating Class of Oneonta High School and the Oneonta Yellowjackets Wrestling and  Football programs.  As a high school senior I plan making the most of my experiences in the classroom, on and off the field and mat, and in my extracurricular activities. It is my desire to attend college and pursue a four year degree while being a member of a strong wrestling program . I continue to explore what career path I would like to take and like to keep an open mind . As you will see by my scholastic and  academic achievements and community service is very important to me. I feel it's important to be a good role model for the youth in my community and be active in giving back to the community in a host of ways whenever possible especially to those in need.

Thank you for allowing me to share with you my Personal Statement.

Respectfully,

Anthony "Tony" Giovagnoli

Wearing a brace, I trained like a spartan making every effort to attempt to wrestle for the 2018 season. I made my wrestling weight of 145, however, the knee failed to hold up under intense competition at practice prior to the first match. I had successful knee surgery on 01/10/2018 and was faithful to my recovery and rehabilitation and was cleared for full training and competition on 07/03/18. During my period of inactive wrestling, I remained very much involved with the team as an "assistant" coach to my teammates. Since 07/03/18 I have taken it upon myself to seek out personal instruction from a highly recognized state champion Derak Heyman and participate in the Army West Point 5 day overnight camp held at West Point. I will continue my efforts to recapture my promising junior season as a senior and make the most of my God given ability.
