Personal Statement

I wish to attend an excellent academic university that will provide a phenomenal athletic experience as well as an expansion of my social and influential circles in post graduate life. Wrestling continues to provide me the mental fortitude to succeed in the classroom and believe it will also contribute to my professional career. I demonstrate my leadership on and off the mat by achieving high academic marks and relentless, hard work in the wrestling room/competition. Due to my current size, I am walking onto the mat and in life as the "underdog" but take advantage of this position by working harder than my competitor, never giving up and striving for the highest achievements on and off the mat. I grew up playing football, lacrosse and wrestling. I train year round for wrestling by strength training competing in national folkstyle and freestyle tournaments.  I placed 5th in the OHSAA District Tournament (State Alternate) where I beat the #9 and # 11 Ohio ranked kids by Borofan and losing to # 3 (6-2) and and # 4 (4-2). Our district had 7 of the top 10 ranked kids in the state at 106 pounds. After the District tournament, I committed to NHSCA Virginia Beach Folkstyle Nationals as well as Fargo Freestyle Nationals with the goal of becoming an All American. In both tournaments, I finished in the Top 12 competing with the best of the best. While I fell just short of my goal, these losses become the fuel for my motivation so, I am now preparing to compete in Super 32 and Michigan Grappler with goal of being on the podium at both. I am truly looking forward to the 2023-2024 high school season. I attend Jackson High School and academically is a top tier/top ten Ohio academic school. I am a student athlete that prides myself in high marks scholastically while surrounding myself with the best coaches of the highest integrity and character.
