Personal Statement
My name is Trevon Gray and I am a wrestler at Oscar Smith High School in Virginia. I am interested in wrestling for a college or University. My parent’s involvement and support has been the largest influence in my life. They taught me at an early age that self-discipline, hard-work, and teamwork is very important while as they introduced me to youth sports (football, baseball, soccer, track, and wrestling). Right away it was evident that I was a competitor and a leader; I sought to dominate at being the best. I played the position of quarterback from youth until JV team sophomore year. I have wrestle since I was 7 years old with my local youth club. Come from a family of successful wrestlers, my grandfather Randy Gray was a 1976 Va state champ and my father Teante Gray was a two time state placer 2nd in 2000. 2019-2020 was best season of my career as I travel with team Va to Fargo even though I lost in the blood rounds it was the experience I had needed. Last season my team and I become the first wrestling team state champs in Oscar Smith High School history. I also became a state champion after getting runner-up the prior year. Academically, I have improved my overall grades as well as GPA. I have achieved honor throughout my entire Jr year and was schedule to take SATs unfortunately was cancel do to COVID-19. I look forward pursuing a career in the field of business and entrepreneurship.
