My name is John Nguyen, and I live in Northern Virginia. My parents are from Vietnam and immigrated here. I had started weight lifting th the end of freshman year and soon started wrestling sophomore year. My passion for both lifting and wrestling soon developed as they started to play key roles in my life. I am looking forward to both wrestling and lifting throughout college. My passion for wrestling specifically comes from the work that you put in. Just like lifting, in wrestling you have to depend on yourself most of the time to grow. Not only has they improved my health and strength but my mentality as well. This can be also implied through school as pushing through can be difficult. As of sophmore year, I ended with a 4.23 GPA and now am currently enrolled for the IB diploma. I am taking 6 IB classes and push myself to my limits not only academically, but also physically. As a wrestler I am gritty and aggressive. My strength is well developed and I love grinding. I am harsh on my own mistakes and want to improve to win more. I prefer top moves and styles of mat returns. My parents have raised me up well with both morals and values for both academics and physical training. I hope to wrestle in college after senior year.
