What the Coaches are Saying...
Jan 30, 2019

“Let me start by saying thank you for your interest in our program and the university as a whole. To get the communication started I wanted to tell you a little about what the program here is all about! Our softball program here at John Carroll University is one of the top programs in the state of Ohio. Over the last decade we have not only compiled 7 straight trips to the Ohio Athletic Conference post season tournament (longest active streak in the OAC), but we have also been ranked in the NFCA Top 25. This was the first time JCU Softball had ever been ranked in the 30 year program history. In addition to that, we have recorded the most season wins in school history, and received NCAA playoff berths for the third and fourth time ever in the competitive Ohio Athletic Conference (arguably one of the top five most competitive DIII conferences in the country). During the 2010 campaign we beat the number fourth ranked team in the country to win our first ever OAC Tournament Championship. This past season we had the opportunity to play the 3rd ranked team in the nation and won ending their 30 game win streak. Every year we play multiple nationally ranked team so in looking at this program you must be prepared to play a tough, competitive schedule day in and day out. We also have had several athletes yearly recognized at the conference, regional, and national level both for their performance on the field and in the classroom. We have also been fortunate enough to have two of our athletes be named All-Americans at the catcher position and one named the COSIDA DIII Academic All-American of the Year in 2013. Every year we are looking to build on the momentum of previous season and are very hungry to become better and compete at the highest national level. The expectation of every athlete in this program is to work hard every day to achieve at their highest potential. In order to continue building on this tradition, we need the help of dedicated, hard working, talented student-athletes like you. Since we are a NCAA Division III institution, we are unable to offer athletic scholarships; however, we do offer various scholarships based on academics, leadership, and service. John Carroll is a prestigious liberal arts University, located 10 miles east of downtown Cleveland that offers degree programs in more than 30 major fields of arts, social services, natural sciences, and business. They include curricula for professional study in medicine, law, dentistry, engineering, and teaching. For further detailed information about our University, please visit www.jcu.edu,”
