2023 Highlights #2
2023 Spotlight
2023 Highlights I live in a small farming community in Southern Alberta. Growing up in a small town gave me the opportuinity to try just about every sport there is because most years almost every athlete had to play every sport or else there wouldn't be enough players for a team. Playing so many sports from such a young age has taught me valuable lessons within sports and throughout life as a whole. I was blessed to have great coaches who made me fall in love with sports before I even knew how to spell my own name. Having so many different coaches has given me the chance to experience many different coaching styles and personalities. This has made me adaptable and I have developed the skill of being coachable.
My biggest take away from all my years of participating in sports is that coaches value respect and hard work, I personally was not the most naturally talented person at a young age but I knew I could always be the hardest worker in the room. This hard work has definetly payed off for me over the years as I've started to surpass my competition as time goes on. I'm also aware that there are other athletes that also work hard and that's why I continue to train year round and put my best effort forward everyday because the grind never stops.
I have always known that I wanted to play college baseball but I never really knew why I wanted to play baseball over other sports. However coming to the end of my highschool career has made me realize that it's my pure love of the game that keeps me showing up at the diamond or indoor facility every day. That's the reason I'm in pursuit of playing college baseball, I'm just not ready to hang the cleats up quite yet. I also value my education and want to make my parents proud by furthering my academic career at a post secondary school.
