Personal Statement
Finding a place where I can combine my passion for playing baseball with the opportunity to get an outstanding college education is my number one priority during my last years of high school. As a baseball player, I hope to contribute to a college team with my aptitude in pitching but would be happy to contribute at other positions as well. My 6'5", 180 lb. frame, my current consistent pitching speed of approximately 80 mph, my strong work ethic, and my more than 10 years of baseball experience will enable me to help a college team have winning seasons. In addition, I am certain I will benefit a team through my enthusiasm, as I have been known on many of my teams as the "spark plug," the teammate who is always picking guys up. Academically, I am a high achiever, maintaining a GPA above 3.5 while taking AP courses, winning speaking awards with my high school speech and debate team, and playing year-round baseball. I hope to attend a larger, urban or suburban college, because I have always been a city dweller, but I am open to any school that will give me the opportunity to help their baseball team win. Although I plan to attend law school after getting a degree in pre-law with a potential minor in communications, I am open to different options in this area as well, as I am still considering various majors and paths. Of course, I would welcome any possible financial aid, since I would prefer not to be buried alive in debt after college. Overall, I hope to be a significant contributor to a college baseball team while achieving my academic goals.
