Brian Hessler '17 Recruiting Profile

    I am from a small school in the mountains of Colorado, 10,000 feet above sea level. I was always more interested in team sports, like baseball, and did not like to hunt or fish like most other kids up here. Since I wanted to play more competitive travel ball I decided to drive over an hour and half to games and practices in Denver and the front range of Colorado. That gave me the opportunity to play all over the state and in different states against the best kids.
 Also my local school did not offer a rigorous enough academic program so I decided to drive an hour to school each way every day so I could attend a large high school with an International Baccalaureate (IB) with many AP classes and a Med Prep program. The Med Prep program has classes designed to prepare kids who want to go into Health Care. My goal and long held dream is to play baseball in college where I can participate in a  Pre-Med curriculum so I can reach my long term goal of being an orthopedic surgeon after college. 
I think the sacrifices and time have put into playing on teams a distance away from home, for years now, shows my commitment to the game and to do what it takes.
