Personal Statement
My name is Jared Case; I'm based out of Parker Colorado. One may say my college career hasn't gone as planned so far. Out of high school, I was recruited to play baseball at Garden City Community College. However, after my first semester of college I was dropped due to my arm injury. At that point in time I had little faith of ever returning to the field to pitch again. I subsequently transferred to Metropolitan State University Denver in the spring of 2016 and became a full time student. My arm was a liability in everyday activities and despite having over a year of physical therapy I went in for shoulder surgery in December of 2016. Even away from the game , I continued to train and improve myself physically and mentally. Despite the low odds I promised I would give baseball one more shot. I contacted John Cronican, my former coach, and worked with him for a little over a month. I was discouraged at first because I was sitting 79-83. My last session with him I was up to 87mph and sat 85-86. I contacted Jason Hirsh, an ex Colorado Rockies starter, due to having a mutual friend who trained at his facilities, and began to train at his facility shortly after. Using Driveline baseballs approach and throwing program methods. After many months of doing pulldowns and plyocare drills, I pulled down at these respective numbers: 89.5mph 7 ounce, 91.8mph 6 ounce, 95.5mph normal 5ounce baseball, 97.4mph 4 ounce, and 101.3 3ounce. Off of the mound, I have jumped up 3mph touching 90 and am consistently throwing 85-88. To be able to have a second chance is a blessing to say the least and I've had to over come a lot of barriers to get to this point. This summer I will be playing in the mile high collegiate league, on the Lowry Bombers. Thank you for taking your time to view my profile.
