First and foremost, I want to make sure that I find a school that fits me academically. I want to find a place where I can be happy and find my passion if baseball doesn’t work out. I am a student first and take pride in my work. I’ve received high honors my whole life and expect to continue this trend. I’m also a good singer and am trusted to be a tour guide at my school, so wherever I am, I have the leadership skills to help others and complete a task. I take pride in being a well-rounded person.
Despite this, I would love for college baseball to be a part of my experience because I know I can play at this level already. I trust the hard work I put in every day and I love the game more than anything, so most importantly, I want to continue to learn everything I can about this game so I can coach one day. I want to be able to help the next generation love the game like I do and I want them to be taught as much as possible to make them the best players and people they can be. I get to every practice early and stay late all the time to work on my craft. My body is still developing and I keep getting stronger and stronger, so I feel like I still haven’t reached my full potential. This is why I will always continue to work no matter what. The athletic director saw me in the gym one day and told me jokingly that he may name the school gym after me because I’m always there putting in the work. I’m also always a great teammate and I’m there for each of my teammates. I stay late to throw or toss to kids that want extra work and I’ll support them through everything. I am always motivated to be better in whatever I do, so I will constantly ask questions to improve. I know any coach would love the work ethic, passion, and intensity I bring each day, and that’s what helps you get through all the slumps and the tiring season. I take each rep religiously because I know it will make be better. I’m extremely proud of baseball’s role in making me the man I am today, which is why I want to still play it in college. I’m not the biggest or strongest looking kid, but I continue to prove people wrong every day. I’m always underrated at the start for each of my teams, but once I show what I can do, I become a huge part of any team I’m on. I’m solid at every facet of the game, but I’m a work in progress that will definitely be worth considering.
