Tyler Grant '18 Recruiting Profile

Baseball is a game I started playing when I was nine years old and I’ve been hooked ever since. I remember playing it back then and how I used to struggle, but my parents always told me if I worked hard enough, that there was no limit to what I could be. It wasn’t always easy but I loved the challenge that the game brought compared to other sports. While other kids disliked the difficultly of the sport, I loved it, and I continued forward. It’s one of my dreams to play college baseball and hopefully one day in the major leagues. I understand the importance of a good education and hope to achieve this goal with the help of my athletic abilities.  My primary position is catcher, and my secondary position is outfield. I feel my strong leadership qualities and athleticism will help me improve my skills in this next level of playing. I have been playing high school varsity baseball since freshman year and during the summer I played for the Miami Suns, in which we won the USA National Championship , and the Perfect Game Florida State Championship.

I preferably would like to attend a smaller school but it isn’t a major concern. However, I do want to attend a school which offers a Psychology program as well as Business and Theater. From a geographical standpoint, I would like to stay near the east coast but would consider attending a university on the west coast. I’ve lived in Miami my whole life so I’m not that accustomed to cold weather. My goal for college baseball is to find a team that would except me easily and one that I would be able to come into a program and impact it in any way possible and helping the team achieve its goals.
