My name is Matthew Morgan and I am a Junior at LaGrange High School in LaGrange, GA. I'm currently 6'0", 175 lbs., and throw and bat right-handed. My primary position is RHP, but I also play 3B, 2B, and 1B.
Ever since I began playing organized baseball, I have dreamed about playing beyond High School. Through the years I have been fortunate to have several excellent coaches who have taught me the right way to play the game and helped me develop as a player. I also think that growing up the youngest of three boys playing neighborhood sports with older kids taught me how to fight hard and not be intimidated.
I hope to build on my Sophomore season which I am very proud of. I earned First Team All-Region pitcher, was selected to the Georgia Top-100 Underclassmen, nominated for Team Georgia, voted a team captain by my teammates, and had the chance to start two games in the state playoffs.
When I'm not playing baseball I enjoy working out, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. In school I have taken a very challenging schedule the last couple of years including AP and College classes. I should graduate with over a semester's worth of college credit in hand.
I want to attend a school with a competitive baseball program and challenging academics, both of which are important for preparing me for life after baseball… whenever that may come.
