November 2024 Personal Statement
My name is Rockman Prince. Through 2 seasons of high school baseball, I have been named first team all-conference as a freshman and sophomore. I was named a top 20 baseball player in Central Illinois. I am a dedicated athlete. I live in the weight room and have an indoor facility at home for baseball training year-round. I have a 3.75+ GPA. My goal is to get a top-notch education while playing the greatest sport (baseball) as long as I can.
I understand baseball is a game of failures. The greatest pro hitters fail 7 out of 10 times. I try to always have a good attitude and be a good teammate, regardless of the outcome of my last at bat. If I make an error, I give a nod to the pitcher accepting accountability and I tell him I will make the play next time. When I am pitching and I lose a batter to a walk or give up a hit, I have a short memory and go after the next batter. I am coachable and always looking to improve every aspect of my game. - I have had an indoor hitting facility at home for nearly all of my baseball playing days. I live in the batting cage hitting off of the tee, live arm and machine. I am dedicated to weight training. I work out 1-1.5 hours per day 5-6 days per week.
