Personal Statement

My earliest baseball memory is when I was four years old, determined to throw from the pitcher’s mound to my mom behind home plate.  A former minor leaguer driving by stopped and asked if he could give me a few pointers.  In that moment, my passion for the game connected with my desire to become a student of the game.  As I grew older, I read every pitching mechanics book in our local library and watched videos to learn minor adjustments that improved my velocity and ball movement.  I accepted feedback from coaches, and learned from other players.  By being focused and observant at practices and in game situations, I increased my baseball intelligence…one of my greatest strengths as a player today.

I am eager to keep learning and improving at the game I greatly enjoy.  I am a rising junior, with the desire to play the game that has shaped me into the person I am today at the highest level possible.  My integrity, character, discipline, and drive are traits that have helped me be successful on the field.  I look forward to bringing these qualities to my collegiate career and make an impact on your program.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
