Hi my name is Griffin Andreychuk from Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. I am 17 years old currently enrolled at Dover Bay Secondary (Grade 12) and I am a straight A student. I have been playing baseball since I was four years old. I am currently playing in one of the best leagues in Canada the BCPBL U-18 league. This league is a woodbat league. As a rookie in the Senior BCPBL I batted .328 last season and was named to the Second All Conference Team. My goals as a baseball player are to play and get a scholarship for a Div.1 University program. I currently consider myself as one of the best grade 12 infielders in the BCPBL. I was just selected as one of the top forty grade 11 players in the Province (all positions) to try out for the BC Select team to represent our Province at the Canada Cup in London, Ontario, this August. One thing that sets me apart from the rest of the players is my hard work ethic and my passion for this amazing game.
My education is a big part of my life and to be able to play baseball and get a good education would be a dream come true. I have excellent marks in school (straight A's) and my favorite subject is math inwhich I just completed and got a 98% on my exam in math 11 Pre-calculus.
I have been part of many teams over the years: including the BC Summer Games team 2010, BC scout team that goes down to Arizona each Fall and I have competed on Team BC at the PNC's in Oregon the past three years. I also attended the Cal Ripken World Series in Aberdeen, Maryland, on a team representing Canada when I was twelve years old.
My most recent accomplishment was being selected to participate in the Canada Cup this past summer in London, Ontario. The team was made up of twenty players from British Coumbia and I was selected as one of only three middle infielders in the Province. I batted .500 (11 for 22) at Canada cup with 3 doubles and 1 homerun which was the fourth best in the tourney out of all of the top seventeen year olds in the country. We placed sliver.
