My goal is to gain acceptance to a college or university from which I can get a quality education and keep playing competitive baseball. After secondary school I attended Fanshawe College in London, ON. The program that I took, Music Industry Arts, allowed for very little time due to 24hr studio time to try and play competitive baseball. After I got home from Fanshawe I realized that I missed my dream too much, and have re-applied myself to a college baseball career!
I believe one of my strongest assets (and coaches have said it) is my knowledge and understanding of the game. Starting baseball at the, age of four and joining a travel/rep team by eight I find that I am further ahead then most players with my "game sense". It is something I pride myself with in other sports I play such as ice hockey and basketball. I think this is a great plus, especially in baseball, as I feel confident that if the ball comes my way I will make the right play. Obviously, through hard work I have a very good set of baseball skills to go with it.
The other thing that I believe has helped me be the top player on my baseball teams growing up, is the extra work that I put in. My Dad and I have spent countless hours at the diamonds near our house working on drills. It is great that we can really work on all aspects of the game and it has let me really fine-tune my skills.
I have really seen my strength and speed increase over the last 5 years which has really helped in all sports. At elementary school I have played on all varsity teams (basketball, volleyball, flag football, soccer, track and cross country running). During my years of high school at Holy Cross Secondary School, I have played Varsity Football (Safety) and Varsity Basketball (Center/Power Forward) and Varsity Baseball (OF/3B/SS).
I began a serious weight lifting regiment in early 2018 in our basement gym. I really enjoy doing this and the benefits I am seeing are incredible!
Academically, I consider myself a very good student. Holy Cross was a tough school academically, but I am worked hard to get good grades so I can attain my college goals! The Fanshawe Music Industry Arts program was also a very tough program to get into. They only take 80 students each year. My drive to play competitive baseball is greater, however and I can't wait to find a school that I can help win!
I feel that I will be a great addition to any team that is interested in what I have to offer them!
