Jacob Stephenson '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jacob Stephenson. I am from Mount Hope, Ontario. My profile contains all of my current information as of December 11, 2014. I am primarily an outfielder, and I have been used in all outfield positions, due to my fielding strengths, which are arm strength, speed, and ability to track the ball. For the past two seasons with the Hamilton Cardinals, I was the leadoff hitter. I believe my speed, my discipline at the plate, and my OBP make me an effective leadoff hitter. In addition to my last 2 years with the Hamilton Cardinals, I have played 2 years on the varsity high school baseball team, where I was hitting in the 3rd spot. I have had above average power and good contact through my current high school baseball experience. Further to the above noted strengths, I am extremely dedicated to improving in all areas of the game, while continuing to be a positive leader. I also recognize that my academics are even more important than my athletics. My academic goal is to get a degree in kinesiology and fitness. I enjoy being active every day and helping others be active and healthy. I am currently and will continue to be focused on my academic achievements. I consider myself a mature, independent 16 year old and I feel that I will be ready to make the transition to the collegiate level in 2016. Any opportunity to continuing to play the game that I love, while furthering my education would be greatly appreciated.
