Josh Cipolla Recr...A young catcher of the 2019 class. I feel that I have a lot to bring to the table when it comes to baseball, academics and even character.
First, I love catching. I've always felt comfortable behind the plate and my body type which is a big solid frame gives me a huge advantage when it comes to the tools needed to be a successful catcher. I have always been known to have a plus arm and I always do a great job keeping the ball in front of me at all costs. My physical presence at the plate is a huge factor in my play. I am able to hit the ball a ton, but at the same time, I am able to execute a hit a run or slap the ball the other way when needed. On top of baseball, I also play hockey. I have played hockey at a high level for the past few years.
Secondly, I always stay on top of my academics. My current GPA for NCAA standards is a 4.0. I always do well in all subjects and am never stressed about school because as a student-athlete I have learned how to prioritize my time wisely.
Lastly, I feel that my character has a big part who I am as a student-athlete. I always put others first and am polite to everyone I meet. One thing I always remember is that at the end of the day, people will always remember you by your character over your abilities. One thing that our coaches tell our team is to ask ourselves is; where am I, where do I need to be and how do I get there. I ask myself this question every day and by doing this, it makes me successful in baseball, academics and in life.
If you have got to this part of this writing piece about me, thank you for taking the time to read it. Here is an additional report that PBR Ontario has written about me if you want to learn more about me or you can visit my youtube channel (Joshua Cipolla).
"A big-bodied, 6-foot-2 catcher with strength, a projectable frame, and some juice from the left side, 2018 may be a breakout year for Josh Cipolla.
At the plate is where Cipolla shows most potential and if he is able to put everything together, he could become a dangerous power bat. With the ability to generate natural lift on the ball, the baseball jumps off his bat when his lower and upper half are in-tune and he gets good extension on his swing. Behind the plate, his pop time was down to 2.03 seconds from the crouch, but Cipolla must continue to become more agile and athletic, but the arm strength is there.
Overall, Cipolla passes the eye test and as he continues to add muscle to his frame while developing as a baseball player, he will be an exciting follow throughout the next couple of years".
