Luke Schmitt '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Luke Schmitt and I'm a RHP and utility player. I am a grade 11 student in Alberta, Canada and play at a High School Baseball Academy along with the U18 AAA Baseball Alberta Elite League Red Deer Braves team. I want to improve my skills to become an elite player. Aside from baseball, I am hoping to pursue a college education in the area of Data Science, Statistics or Sport Management with the goal of becoming a Sports Statistician or Data Analyst.  What separates me from other players is my coachability; I accept criticism from others and implement their recommendations to improve my play. I love to build off of advice from coaches, and even other teammates. I am a scrappy player, work hard and am always trying to upgrade a specific element in my game such as better off-speed to back up my fastball, hitting technique, speedwork and base running.  In the classroom, I set aside time in the day to go over work and I understand the importance of studying hard in pursuit of my education. As the oldest of 4 kids, family is really important to me. I heave learned the concepts of sacrifice, putting other people's needs ahead of my own, teamwork and working together for a common goal.
