Spencer Merritt '23 Recruiting Profile

I have grown up playing many sports including, baseball, hockey, and basketball. I have always loved all sports but my main focus and passion is for baseball. I have played baseball at a high level in Ontario for many years. I believe that I have the skill to play baseball at the college level. As a freshman and a sophomore, I made my high school varsity team and we placed fifth in Ontario. From my many years of the sport, I have learned the value of teamwork, leadership, and commitment.

Currently, I play for Leaside Leafs of the EBLO, and this year we aim to compete for a national championship. For two years I played for a team a year above my age group which has taught me how to have determination as I had to work harder than the other players on the team. I am looking for a baseball program that has a good reputation for athletics as well as for academics. I have the talent, determination, and commitment to make an impact on a program through my play on the field and also through my leadership and work ethic on and off of it.
