2023 Highlights
2024 SpotlightHello. My name is Zachary Heck. I was born in Edmonton, AB Canada. I have been playing baseball since the age of 5. I have grown up in the beautiful city of Penticton, BC Canada and I have played baseball and developed in our community association the South Okanagan Minor Baseball Association (SOMBA).
From the summer of 2021 to the summer of 2023 I resided with my family in the greater Phoenix, AZ USA community of Ahwatukee, AZ. While living in Ahwatukee I played Junior Varsity as a Sophmore and Junior at a 6A High School called Desert Vista High School. I also competed in Club Baseball for Nomadic Baseball 2021/2022 and then Paynes Baseball Club 2022/2023.
Upon moving back to Penticton, BC Canada from Arizona with my family in August 2023. I made the decision, along with my mom and dad, to leave the public school system and I got a job in the career path I want to follow. I work full time as a Carpenter's Helper, acquiring my hours to becoming a Journeyman Carpenter. Monday to Friday, I work a 40 hour work week from 7:00am to 3:30pm and in the evenings and on weekends I grind away at getting my GED online.
I am currently playing baseball for SOMBA 18U Triple A. I am 6ft 6in and weigh 230lb. I recognize that my physicality is one of my biggest strengths and I work hard in the gym and weight room to maintain and build my athleticism. I move very well for a big body. I am a right handed hitter and thrower. My primary position is RHP and I also play both corners of the Outfield and 1st Base. I read the ball very well and cover a lot of ground in the outfield and I have a very strong and accurate arm. I consider myself a well-rounded player and a strong team player who leads by example an is very coach-able. I am mature physically, mentally and emotionally. I love being a part of a team and I am loved by my teammates.
My goal is to achieve a scholarship offer from a JUCO school that has a good Baseball Program as well as a good Carpentry and Construction Program that will allow me to have a well-rounded college experience consisting of a great education and develop and continue to follow my life long dream of playing professional baseball.
