Personal Statement
Hello I am Wrikin Scobee, a senior at Lyons High School in Lyons, KS. When I was younger, I participated in youth wrestling and football, however my love is baseball. What I enjoy most is meeting new people from other teams and supporting my teammates on and off the field. My plan is to go to college and play baseball and I am 100% committed. This sport has been my passion all my life. I will do what I can to make that happen and believe in listening to coaches to better myself and my team. I strive to give my very best every time I am on the field, keeping a good attitude and trying to make us the best team out there. I currently play on a travel team, as well as the high school team, where I have lettered all three years, and I got awarded 2nd team All-League Outfield.
Outside the game, I am involved with several extracurricular activities. I am active in FFA as well, I will be the next FFA President of our chapter. As well as, participating on the Parliamentary Law Team which involves debating against other schools on various agricultural topics. Scholars Bowl is additionally an activity I enjoy. In the classroom I carry a 3.5 GPA. I hold a part time job working at our local bank (Lyons Federal). Family is very important to me and I am blessed that my parents are still married. My older brother, sister in law and three nieces live in the same town; as well as a large portion of my extended family.
Throughout the last two years of my high school I have been taking college dual credit classes to try and get most of my Gen-eds out of the way. For one, to focus more on my major, which I plan to get a Business degree. Secondly, to have more time to focus on baseball.
I look forward to seeing where my future and baseball leads!
