Beck Edgerly '26 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing baseball since I was six years old, and fell in love with the sport in my first year of Little League. I love that baseball can push me to my limits and challenge me to do better and better. Since I was nine years old, I have played on a D1 AAU team called the Southern Maine River Rats. I am lucky to have been able to play for some of the best coaches in my area, and they have helped me grow both as a player and person. I have always done anything to help my team compete, and try my best to contribute to their success. I am excited for the opportunity to play for a college baseball team, and to compete at that level. My baseball and life role model is David Ortiz. I have looked up to him since I started playing and watching baseball as a kid. I love that he is not just a great player, but works to help others off the field. 

My favorite positions are pitcher and 2nd base. My strongest pitches are my 4-seam fastball and my slider. My signature pitch that most coaches know me by is my slider. I have 4 base pitches and am working on developing more. I love starting and closing games. I am a strong starter with my ability to remain powerful throughout a long outing. I am a strong closer because of my ability to remain calm under pressure and still deliver strong pitches. My strengths at 2nd base are my quick hands and my strong baseball knowledge. I can also strongly play any infield position, besides catcher.

 Academically, I love school. I have gotten straight As for the last 5 years and have made First Honors each quarter. Last year I challenged myself in my first AP class, and it turned out to be my favorite class I have ever taken. For college academics, I am thinking about studying Finance or Sports Management. 

Baseball is a huge part of my life, and I am hoping to extend my time on the field as long as I can.
