Personal Statement
My name is Evan Scully. I've been playing baseball since age four and have never lost interest. That is why one of my biggest goals is to play in some sort of competitive baseball league beyond highschool, specifically college. To add to that, I also strongly believe in the importance of academics, and hope to go to a college that puts forward the same idea. Going back to baseball, I love all the positions, but one of my favorites is pitching. The reason why pitching has always been my most-liked position is because I like to be a leader and I feel like I can take control of the tempo of the game. On and off the field, I live with integrity and determination, making me a great team player who will never put anyone down for making a mistake. Even though I might be a good, supportive teammate, I look to be with a team that has intensity, integrity, and is there for one-another. Ever since I attended my school in 6th grade, the Advanced Math and Science Academy, it really taught me the importance of constantly setting high goals while being independent. The school offers difficult subjects at young ages unlike your average public schools, making the students have discipline and self-drive that I've developed throughout the past couple of years. If I get the chance to play college ball, I will make sure I carry all of these characteristics with me, and spread positivity and motivation to others. I will never give up on any team, and am willing to put in a lot of hard work for my school and team.
