I don’t know life without baseball. I enjoy playing golf and I like basketball, but I love the game of baseball. There’s something about being with my friends, facing tough competition, and learning from each outing that is rewarding and keeps me going.
My family has always been competitive, with my cousin playing college baseball and my sister a 3x state champ in volleyball and 2x in soccer (even Candy Land got pretty intense when I was younger!). Competing has always come naturally to me. I have good composure on the mound and love reviewing what I did well and what I could improve upon after each outing.
I am known for being a great teammate, willing to do whatever I can to support my friends in the pursuit of their goals. Whether that is charting pitches or helping pull the tarp, I don’t complain. Any day on the field is a great day!
I am a “young” athlete for my graduating class, so there’ve been times in the past that I’ve been ignored, my coaches focusing on my classmates that were bigger and stronger than me. All that did was fuel me to work harder and to push myself to be the best I can be. I quietly put in the work on the field, in the weight room, and with my nutrition. I’ve caught up physically and people are surprised, asking what I’ve been doing. I’ve been grinding!
Now that it's time to think about taking the next step in my baseball career, I'm excited about the possibilities ahead. I want to find the school, coaching staff and culture that are the best fit for me, where I can contribute to the team quickly while continually improving my skills. Getting to the next level isn't the end game, it's only the beginning.
