Personal Statement
I have been very fortunate to play baseball for several competitive travel ball teams from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas. Playing with these teams has shown me different ways of approaching the game and forced me to learn to play in various types of systems and for different types of coaches. It has also taught me how to make new friends and what it takes to be a leader and a good teammate. As a coach’s son, I have been lucky to grow up around a great high school program which has allowed me to see firsthand how several collegiate and drafted players performed in the classroom, interacted with the team and others, and the effort, determination and commitment they needed to succeed both on the field and in life.
Although I don’t know at this time what I’d like to study in college, my academic goal for high school is to maintain a 4.0 GPA and to become a valedictorian for my class. I’m looking for a program that will challenge me both academically and athletically to become the best person and player that I can be. I have seen what it takes to succeed at the highest levels of this sport and I am convinced that I have both the talent and determination to compete successfully for your program and to represent you and your school very well.
