Personal Statement

I am 6'5 220 lb. Outfielder / 1B at Marcus HS (5 AAA) in Flower Mound, Texas.  I start at 1B for my high school team.  I play OF/RHP (Closer) for my summer ball team, Dallas Mustangs Randle 17U.  I am a closer and throw consistently 87-89 FB/75CB. .   I am an excellent hitter with lots of power.  My fastest 60 time was 6.9 last year.  I have a 34" vertical with a 4.08 time from home to 1B.  In 2014, Best OF Velo 91 & Best 1B Velo was 89.  I was selected to be on TEAM USA NTIS 17U regional team and competed in NC.  Named to All Tournament Team Perfect  Game 17U WWBA Nationals with a .455 Avg with 4 doubles and OPS 1.136.  In the" V Tool Showcase" , I Batted .461 (6 for 13) with 4 doubles in showcase and voted "Dude of the Day" on 6/27 and MVP of Game 3.

As far as academics go, I have a 3.88 weighted GPA with my AP and pre AP classes, as I chose to take a more challenging set of courses.   I will be taking SAT in Oct. 2014.  I mad a 23 of ACT and will be retaking in Fall to raise my grade.  I just made a 4 on my AP US History exam.

I am a good all around athlete.  Baseball is my primary sport and my team made it to the playoffs but we were knocked out in regionals.  We finished ranked in Top 10 in Texas.  I also played Varsity basketball.  We were ranked 3rd in Texas 5A & 28th on the USA.   I was voted All District in basketball this year. I have a 4 handicap in golf and was also a quarterback in middle school.  I come from a family of athletes.  My grandpa played baseball at Texas, brother played baseball at New Mexico and Pepperdine,  2 cousins played AAA in MLB, my Dad played golf at Houston Baptist, and my uncle Scott played golf at Oklahoma State (won NCAA Championship) and has been a PGA Tour member since 1986.

I am looking for a university where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I would like to pursue a degree in business at a university with great academics and athletics. I am willing to put in the work to get to the next level in both academics and athletics. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I am open to all opportunities, although I prefer Texas, Oklahoma, other southern states or California.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
