October 2019Howdy, from Austin, Texas! My name is Luke Wilkins, and I am the only son of 2 professional musicians who love baseball. My life has been a grand balance of music and the greatest sport on God’s green earth. I’ve been playing baseball, specifically shortstop, since I was four years old, and if I wasn't playing baseball, I was playing the drums. Touring with my parents I would always bring a glove, baseball, and Wiffle Ball equipment. Both of these artforms fuel my life and passions, second only to being with family. I have been on my varsity baseball team since my Junior year, and have started every district game since. Last year on varsity, I hit ninth in the lineup, serving as a second leadoff. I had the highest average and on base percentage during district play. Alongside that, I’ve also been playing club ball since fourth grade including University Baseball and ATX Tigers. I love being a part of a team, and have had a strong circle of friends because of it. I admire leadership and strive to be a leader. I am in a college level art class, and have taken American Sign Language for three years. In my freshman year, I won an award for Music Composition, and have been a member of the PTSA ever since. Before that, I was volunteering for the Austin Harmony Project, which is a school for adults with disabilities.
