I’m Ryker Meadows, I am a senior, in the class of 2024 at Green River High School in Green River, Utah. I have been a rotational infielder, including pitcher and catcher. Been captain of the baseball team, and started all four years. My main position is shortstop, which I am very solid at. Whether it bounces off my body, or goes in my glove, the ball is getting knocked down. When hitting I’m usually a power hitter, making contact with the slightest force puts it in the outfield. I have good eye, ball contact and can foul off many pitches until I get the right one to put into play. On base I’m quick, and I like to steal as often as possible. I look closely at pitchers and catchers to see when to take off.
I have self confidence and know that I am a very coachable player. I am able to accept the advice given by the coaches when they are trying to help me.
When I’m not playing baseball I’m a member of the basketball team. This helps me to stay in shape and strengthens me for baseball. I have been the captain of the varsity basketball team for 3 years and started in every game.
Besides my athleticism, I take pride in my leadership with my peers. I encourage them to keep their grades up so we will always be an eligible team. I strive to keep as close to a 4.0 g.p.a because I know having high academics help me be highly knowledgeable with athletes. This helps me be a smarter player.
